A 79 error

A 79 error is displayed for one of the following reasons:

*a problem with the network print server that services the printer, or

*a failure of a printer add-on component, such as an MIO card or a RAM module.

When troubleshooting a 79 error on your touch screen printer, open the Start menu on the Print server and ensure no pending printing jobs.

To understand which module is at fault, all add-ons should be removed and then added back to the printer one by one. It is advisable to take help from a HP printer repair personal for this issue.

Driver – OS incompatibility

HP printers come with some drivers installed for common operating systems. But as new operating systems are released, new drivers for those  need to be loaded. Hence, the printer manual comes handy to find out what printers the drivers will emulate. Moreover, most basic printing works can be carried out with the new drivers since आप features do not get covered under the emulation. For example, most HP printers will print with the HP LaserJet II driver installed, although a few features like duplexing will not work at all.

Paper picking trouble

Sometimes, in lower end HP models which do not have automatic paper sensing, the printer may pick up all the papers fed manually for printing. This may happen due to

*The pad that is responsible for separating the paper has likely worn out and needs to be replaced.

*It is also possible that the papers are mildly wet due to humidity.

One can call an authorised HP repair service centre in Mumbai to replace the worn out pad. And secondly, the printing paper should be stored in dry places and “fanned” before placing them into the printer.

Incorrect paper tray printing

This problem could arise either on the computer /laptop or the printer. Most often, the application is mistakenly set to print to the wrong paper tray. This can be corrected within the application. Therefore, you need to find the Tray Selection source on the printer properties and select the correct tray size. Secondly, on the printer, one must always use the paper sizes in the control panel that  match the paper trays.

Envelope printing troubles

Envelopes are known trouble-makers for HP laser printers.

*It is advised to choose envelopes with 20lb paper.

*The envelope adhesive should be of good quality, capable of withstanding the heat. Otherwise the envelopes can come out of the printer already sealed.

*Very stiff envelopes may come out wrinkled. It is suggested to open the rear of the printer and let them exit from that location.

HP printers are renowned to be among the most reliable in the industry. But just like other pieces of IT equipment, they’re vulnerable to defects, problems and bugs.  But no matter what the problem is with your HP printer, this guide to common printing problems is intended to help diagnose and fix the problem on hand.
